Healthy Brown Bread

Full of fibre and goodness, this brown bread is a great healthy alternative to traditional bread.

Preheat oven to 160°C. Coat a 1lb loaf tin with cooking spray and line the tin with parchment paper.

Combine all dry ingredients together, then combine the buttermilk and egg and add to the dry mixture. Stir until throughly mixed.

Spoon the mixture into prepared pan. Bake at 160°C for 1 hou or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Invert bread onto a wire rack and cool completely. 


  1. 320g of Whole-Wheat Flour
  2. 65g of All-Purpose Flour
  3. 45g of Oats
  4. 2 Tbs of Gem Brown Sugar
  5. 1 Tbs of Wheat Germ
  6. 1 tsp of Gem Baking powder
  7. 1/2 tsp of Salt
  8. 500ml of Buttermilk
  9. 1 Large Egg, beaten
